At Mercury 20 Gallery for her current exhibition, “ROTATIONS,” Charlie Milgrim’s works range from abstract paintings using brightly-colored concentric circles as markers for the cyclical nature of our lives to her more customary poetic explorations of found objects. Milgrim mounts a thoughtful and formally strong presentation. A small selection of the artist’s bowling ball collection—she has 600—and a wall-mounted display of tomato cages, casting complex and evocative shadows, “Caged Air,” completes the exhibition.
